We are transitioning from compostable bags to recyclable plastic.

Compostable bags that enter the landfill, which nearly all do generate methane, a particularly harmful greenhouse gas.

While we love the idea of the bag turning into new beautiful plants, that is not today’s reality.

And even better if our culture supported always filling and refilling our own containers over and over.

Until commercial composting allows coffee bags and citizens know to do it, a compostable bag is the worst possible option for the planet, even if it feels good for the small group of people who home compost.

A recyclable plastic bag is the most ecological choice. It’s a compromise to be sure and we don’t love it but it truly makes the most sense. And we all need coffee.
